....and while on the same subject

anyone venture to guess what this is? (it's not carob, not tamarind.....)

it produces something that will be used in an upcoming recipe, now in the works. it's a common ingredient in what we eat but not commonly seen as the ingredient itself on the shelf of regular grocery stores. it also belongs to the leguminosae family which is the reason it looks like tamarind and carob.

Hi Burekaboy, that would be the acacia wattle, and you don't often see recipes for that ingredient outside of Australia, interested to see what you will post!

we have something in our country thats called "Stink Toe", I dont know the right name, we always have some weird name for our fruits thats not the right name. And no one seems to know the right name. I never know what it was used for though, but it resembles tamarind and some people does eat it as a fruit...

Cant wait to see what it is...

pammie - :) really? you sure?? hehe.

pj - LOL, that's not it but it's a very odd name for a tree/fruit! you're right however, it does sort of look like it and it does produce something that i am talking about!

the name of this tree really sounds gross, if you ask me. i did look it up because it sounded so strange. here's the information. it's called the stinking toe tree but it's real name is guapinol or west indian locust tree. another interesting thing about it here. good guess :)

Hey BB,
Hmmm, my guess would be soy beans.
But as you know I can be a bit off the wall and I'm probably wrong. Looking forward to seeing what you're up to next. ;^}
